Lone Pine Order
A case management order requiring prima facie proof of exposure, injury, and causation early on.
Named after a New Jersey toxic tort case, the order requires each plaintiff to produce threshold expert or documentary evidence supporting causation before further litigation proceeds. Defendants seek them to clear unsupported inventory; plaintiffs resist them as premature merits adjudication before discovery is complete.
