Mass Arbitration

Staggered Processing

Also known as Sequential processing

Resolving mass demands in sequence rather than in parallel.

The generic form of which batching is the contractual instance. Sequencing spreads the respondent's cost over years and correspondingly delays every claimant behind the front of the queue. Because delay is functionally denial for claims of modest value, sequencing is where unconscionability analysis most often lands — and where a tolling provision is doing the heaviest lifting in a well-drafted clause.
